Englishman Tim Mudd's second full-length release 'When You've Got Nothing Else' reflects on relationships: specifically the desperation and introspection that follow their loss. The acknowledgement of human vulnerability is a central theme to the lyrical tone of this acoustic song collection.
“From what I gather, I’m not the only person who goes to bed at night believing I’m indestructible before waking up the next morning wondering what the hell I’m doing.” This need for validation and fear of simply being a ‘number’ are personal preoccupations that fuel Tim Mudd and his music.
With each song cutting straight to the heart, 'When You've Got Nothing Else' flies the flag for the emotionally downtrodden by documenting an unsuccessful struggle to resuscitate a long-term relationship. “By the time I came to record the songs everything had fallen down and I was in a very dark place. This record is about finding the strength to move on through failure.”
Tim’s next release due in the early summer of 2007, 'This Is My Future Without You' is a natural progression from its predecessor both musically and emotionally. In contrast to the intimacy of the last CD, Tim’s new compositions have a fuller sound, which echoes his passion for strengthening the relationship with his audience. “In my experience, relationships either grow stronger through challenges or they break. My relationship with the listener is no exception.”
Tim Mudd writes and lives in San Diego, California where for the last three years he has hosted the World Famous Wednesday night Open Mic at Twiggs Green Room in University Heights. Tim is an active member of America's Finest City's thriving acoustic music community.
